Press Release- Springfield Grange Completion- July 2019

First new development for local housebuilder Crocus Homes
Crocus Homes, a locally based building company in Norfolk, will this week (Friday 2 August 2019) celebrate the completion of its first housing development with a Street Party.
The ‘Springfield Grange’ site in Acle, Norfolk comprises 36 high quality one, two, three and four-bedroom homes, 24 for private sale, eight affordable homes and four Shared Equity.
In 2015, the land was purchased from the Acle Parish Council and Phase 1 was commenced during 2016, with work on the last Phase 3 recently completed.
Friday’s Street Party will bring together local residents, Crocus staff and Board members from both Crocus and their shareholder, Saffron Housing Trust, as well as representatives from Acle Parish Council and Wellington Construction (residential contractors).
The new development is ideally located for access to the Norfolk Broads, Norwich and the coast.
Assistant Director of Crocus Homes Matt Davidson said: “We are extremely excited to see our first ever development come to fruition. The site includes a combination of houses and bungalows which means we’re able to provide homes to a range of customers such as families, professionals and retired people.
“A key priority for us is to create a sense of community in our developments, and we believe the street party will be a great opportunity to bring everyone together.”
Crocus Homes has been working in partnership with Wellington Construction and Acle Parish Council to ensure the new development’s success.
Paul Pitcher, Managing Director of Lowestoft-based contractor Wellington, which was contracted to build the new homes at Springfield Grange, said: “We are delighted to have been the construction partner for this project. We were able to bring our extensive experience of bringing forward developer-led schemes to offer a considerable level of flexibility in delivering the contract, for example achieving phased completions and early handover of properties to enable sales to progress ahead of schedule. We are very pleased to have been involved in delivering these high-quality new homes for Acle.”
A play park has been created on the site reinforcing the importance of community. Acle Parish Clerk Pauline James said: “Acle Parish Council has very much enjoyed working with Crocus Homes on this site. We were kept informed at all stages; about the designs for the homes, the mix of homes and the progress with the sales. The mix of homes has supported the vibrant community and enabled more people to live in Acle, attend Acle’s schools and enjoy Acle’s facilities.”
Neil MacDonald recently purchased one of the homes at Springfield Grange and said: “My new Crocus home exceeds my expectations, it’s high quality finish and personal touch instantly made the house my home. This is a credit to the team at Crocus and their local contractors.
“Before my reservation of the plot and throughout the build, Crocus Home’s friendly, professional and flexible approach combined to form great customer service. I would recommend your new home is a Crocus home.”
